Plantation of Bamboo and rattan are extremely needed in
our ecological security. To assess and realize the potential role of bamboo
and rattan in improving the environment Inter Rattindo is fucusing on knowledge
and practices on rehabilitating degraded land and on use of bamboo of sustain
riverbanks and for slope erosion control. As interest grows in bamboo and rattan
species.
Any efforts are made in establishing plantations to meet
the demand, reliable information about their site requirements is needed. As
the first step in improving the information. We will work more with village
communities. The program is also focuscing more on improving the ecological
environment by developing bamboo and rattan to replant live hood and use for
basic need of poor rural communities living in bamboo and rattan producing area.
